Perhaps a little too much Palin bashing, (not that she doesn't deserve it), in the following blog post, but given that I am being forced out of a job I love, by "government regulation" of the health care INDUSTRY, I can still say I would back a universal health care plan with every bone & sinew in my body.
We lived with NO health care for over two years, because we simply couldn't afford it. Our current premium went up last month (MID-CONTRACT!) and in leaving this job that I love, we will be giving THAT up as well. Paying over $12,000./year for three reasonably healthy adults, simply doesn't fit the budget.
Think about the fact that there are MANY people who don't even EARN that much in a year, let alone have it to piss away on *insurance*! Yes, in this country people are dying because they are buying shelter and food and shoes for their children instead of health insurance. Oh! And then there are the elderly who are dying because they can't afford necessary medications. I guess though, that they don't count. They are "dead wood" in this society, anyway.
Disgusting.
Something has gotta give. I don't think ANY of us can afford NOT to do *something* about the abysmal private system we are forced to live with. Let's make a few sacrifices, and build a health care system we can be proud of.
